Research Insiders

eTMF jobs — the trial master file people inspectors look for first.

Every clinical trial generates a trial master file, and when an inspector arrives, the TMF is the first thing opened. eTMF specialists own the taxonomy, completeness, and quality review of that record — and the skill bridges the clinical and regulatory worlds. This page lists eTMF specialist, administrator, and TMF manager openings, re-checked all day, each with insiders who can refer you. Free, no card.

What eTMF people actually do

Maintain the document taxonomy, drive milestone completeness, run quality review, prepare for inspection, and chase study teams for their documents. Platforms you'll see in postings: Veeva Vault eTMF, Wingspan, Florence eBinders. It's the most clinical-adjacent job on the regulatory side — many eTMF specialists came from CRC or study-team roles, which is why this role appears on both sides of our site.

Getting in

From clinical operations: you already know which documents matter and when; the platform is the new part. From regulatory: you already know the platforms; the study context is the new part. Either way, inspection-readiness stories interview well.

Questions

What do eTMF specialists earn? None of the eTMF postings we currently index advertise a salary — sponsors mostly post the range offline or at intake. The eTMF salary page carries the number live, computed from whatever employers actually publish, and updates the moment that changes.

Is eTMF a good step from coordinator? Yes — it's one of the clearest pay-and-scope moves out of patient-facing work without leaving trials. See our CRA to regulatory operations guide for the wider map.

What does a TMF specialist do? Owns the trial master file: classifying documents against the taxonomy, reviewing completeness against the TMF plan, and keeping the whole record inspection-ready. Hour by hour: a day in the life of an eTMF specialist.
